Environmental Policy Law and Legal Definition
Environmental policy of a State refers to the deliberate actions taken by a State to manage the activities of the population within that State in order to prevent, reduce or alleviate any harmful effects on nature and its natural resources. Such policy also aims to ensure that any man made changes to the environment does not result in any harm to its population.
The United States follow an environment policy that aims at protecting the environment for the future generation with minimum interference on the commercial efficiency and personal liberty of the people. It also aims at limiting the inequity caused to those burdened with environmental costs. The US Government Environmental policy is contained in the National Environmental Policy Act which prescribes regulations that aim at protecting the environment.
