Essential Fish Habitat Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 16 USCS § 1802 (10), [Title 16. Conservation; Chapter 38. Fishery Conservation and Management; Generally] the term essential fish habitat means “those waters and substrate necessary to fish for spawning, breeding, feeding or growth to maturity.”
