Estate per autre vie is an estate which is to endure for the life of a person other than the grantee or devisee.
An estate per autre vie is personal property of the life tenant which, if he dies intestate, is to be distributed under the statute providing for the descent of estates, both real and personal. [Oak Park Trust & Sav. Bank v. Baumann, 108 Ill. App. 3d 322 (Ill. App. Ct. 1st Dist. 1982)].
