Estoppel by Oath Law and Legal Definition
Estoppel by oath is a form of judicial estoppel within the class of estoppels arising from sworn statements made in the course of judicial proceedings generally in the form of litigation. It is the bar of a party to deny in subsequent litigation that which he has previously stated on oath in a former litigation, in a pleading, deposition, or oral testimony.
