Evacuation Liaison Team [ELT] Law and Legal Definition
An Evacuation Liaison Team or ELT is a team constituted for coordination and communication among states during an evacuation. It is constituted with members of Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. ELT is pioneered for Category 3 or a higher hurricane that requires multi-State evacuations. When triggered, ELT activities are managed from the FEMA Regional Operations Center in Atlanta, GA.
