Explosive Materials Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 18 USCS § 841 (c), [Title 18. Crimes and Criminal Procedure; Part I. Crimes; Chapter 40. Importation, Manufacture, Distribution and Storage of Explosive Materials] the term explosive materials means “explosives, blasting agents, and detonators.”
According to 10 CFR 61.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 61 -- Licensing Requirements for Land Disposal of Radioactive Waste; Subpart A -- General Provisions], the term explosive material means “any chemical compound, mixture, or device, which produces a substantial instantaneous release of gas and heat spontaneously or by contact with sparks or flame.”
