Extended Mass Layoff Law and Legal Definition
Extended mass layoff refers to layoff of a company for at least 31 days in duration and pursuant to which 50 or more affected employees file initial claims for unemployment insurance during a consecutive 5-week period. This constitutes an extended mass layoff.
