Extended School Time (Education) Law and Legal Definition
In the U.S., extended school time is a proposal for increasing the number of mandatory hours per week that students should spend at school. Students in U.S., spend lesser time in school than students in other industrial countries. Expanding instructional time is an effective educational intervention intended to boost learning. The added high-quality teaching time benefits certain groups of students, such as low-income students and others who have little opportunity for learning outside of school.
