Extension of Emergency Access [Energy] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 62.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 62 -- Criteria and Procedures for Emergency Access to Non-Federal and Regional Low-Level Waste Disposal Facilities; Subpart A -- General Provisions], the term extension of emergency access means “an extension of the access that had been previously granted by NRC to an operating non-Federal or regional low-level radioactive waste disposal facility or facilities for a period not to exceed 180 days.”
