Extreme Medical Risk Law and Legal Definition
According to 34 CFR 361.5 (b) (21) [Title 34 – Education; Subtitle B -- Regulations of the Offices of the Department of Education; Chapter III -- Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Education; Part 361 -- State Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program; Subpart A – General], the term extreme medical risk means “a probability of substantially increasing functional impairment or death if medical services, including mental health services, are not provided expeditiously.”
