F.C.&S. Law and Legal Definition
F.C. & S. is the acronym of free of capture and seizure. This is a marine insurance policy clause which excludes damage or destruction of property in risks such as war, capture, or seizure from the marine policy. The war risks can be covered by issuing a separate war policy with an additional premium being charged. Under the F.C. & S. provision, the claims for losses due to war-like hostile acts such as rebellion, mutiny, civil strife, are excluded.
