Family Caregiver Law and Legal Definition
According to 42 USCS § 3022 [Title 42. The Public Health and Welfare; Chapter 35. Programs for Older Americans; Grants for State and Community Programs on Aging; General Provisions], the term "family caregiver" means "an adult family member, or another individual, who is an informal provider of in-home and community care to an older individual or to an individual with Alzheimer's disease or a related disorder with neurological and organic brain dysfunction."
