Family Guardian Law and Legal Definition
Under Guardianship law, Family Guardian is an individual who is appointed as guardian for a person to whom s/he is related by blood or marriage. Usually, the court prefers to appoint a family member as guardian in most cases when there is a willing and able family member who has no clash with the prospective ward. A family guardian may receive reasonable compensation for time and expenses relating to care of the ward on approval from court . A family guardian is accountable to the court.
