Family Relations Counselor Law and Legal Definition
Family Relations Counselor is a person who mediates disagreements and negotiates agreements in the matters of custody, visitation and divorce cases. A family relations counselor may evaluate a family situation by interviewing each parent and the children in the family, on the request of the judge. The family relations counselor then submits a report before the judge making recommendations about custody and visitation. Family relations counselor is employed with the Family Services Office.
