Family Third Preference Law and Legal Definition
Family Third Preference is a limited category used in family immigration to identify married sons and daughters of U.S. citizens, and their spouses and children. Family Third Preference Green Cards are issued to:
1. Married children (any age) of U.S. citizens;
2. Married step children of U.S. citizens, if the marriage creating the stepchild relationship took place before the child's 18th birthday; and
3. U.S. Citizens to sponsor the Green Card application of their married children (any age).
