According to 12 CFR 336.3 [Title 12 -- Banks and Banking; Chapter III -- Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; Subchapter B -- Regulations and Statements of General Policy; Part 336 -- FDIC Employees; Subpart B -- Minimum Standards of Fitness for Employment With the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation], federal deposit insurance fund means “the Deposit Insurance Fund, the former Bank Insurance Fund, the former Savings Association Insurance Fund, the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation (FSLIC) Resolution Trust, or the funds formerly maintained by the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), or their successors, for the benefit of insured depositors.”
