Federal Home Loan Bank Board Law and Legal Definition
The Federal Home Loan Bank Board (FHLBB) was a board that regulated all federal savings and loan associations and federally insured state-chartered savings and loan associations. The FHLBB was created pursuant to the Federal Home Loan Bank Act of 1932. It was superseded by the Federal Housing Finance Board and the Office of Thrift Supervision in the Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act of 1989.
