Federal Power Commission [FPC] Law and Legal Definition
The Federal Power Commission (FPC), an independent commission of the U.S. government, was established in the year 1930 to regulate the interstate energy industry. The members of FPC were nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate. The agency regulated interstate electric utilities and the natural gas industry as well. In 1977, the agency was replaced by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
