Federally Related Transaction Law and Legal Definition
According to 12 CFR 225.62 [Title 12 -- Banks and Banking; Chapter II -- Federal Reserve System; Subchapter A -- Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; Part 225 -- Bank Holding Companies and Change in Bank Control (Regulation Y); Subpart G -- Appraisal Standards for Federally Related Transactions; Regulations], federally related transaction means “any real estate-related financial transaction entered into on or after August 9, 1990, that:
(1) The Board or any regulated institution engages in or contracts for; and
(2) Requires the services of an appraiser.”
