Federally Vaccine-Eligible Child Law and Legal Definition
Federally vaccine-eligible child means a child who is a medicaid-eligible child, a child who is not insured, a child who is administered with a qualified pediatric vaccine by a federally-qualified health center or a rural health clinic and is not insured with respect to the vaccine and a child who is an Indian. The provider of the vaccine can impose a fee for the administration of a qualified pediatric vaccine. However, the fee for administration of vaccine in the case of a federally vaccine-eligible child should not exceed the costs of such administration as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
