Fictio Legis Neminem Laedit Law and Legal Definition
Fictio legis neminem laedit is a legal maxim that means fiction in law does not injure anyone. A fiction is an assumption or supposition of law that something which is or can be false is true. A fiction is a rule of law which is assumed to be true. This will not allow disproving something which is false, but not impossible. These assumptions are made for the advancement of the ends of justice. Therefore, a fiction of law that is not impossible cannot injure a person because the fiction in law is created only in the interests of justice.
