First Impression Law and Legal Definition
When an issue is brought before a court which has not been addressed before it is called a case of first impression. It is the opinion or inference reached by a court, authority or person by applying the logic and reasoning on the circumstances prevailing in that case, when a similar precedence, decision, ruling are not existing to guide them.
