Flag Officer Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 USCS § 101 (Title 10, Armed Forces; Subtitle A, General Military Law; Part I, Organization And General Military Powers; Chapter 1, Definitions), the term "flag officer" means “an officer of the Navy or Coast Guard serving in or having the grade of admiral, vice admiral, rear admiral, or rear admiral (lower half).”
