Flood Elevation Determination Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 44 CFR 59.1 [Title 44 -- Emergency Management and Assistance Chapter I -- Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Homeland Security], the term flood elevation determination means “a determination by the Federal Insurance Administrator of the water surface elevations of the base flood, that is, the flood level that has a one percent or greater chance of occurrence in any given year.”
