Flood Elevation Study Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 44 CFR 59.1 [Title 44 -- Emergency Management and Assistance Chapter I -- Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Homeland Security], the term Flood elevation study means “an examination, evaluation and determination of flood hazards and, if appropriate, corresponding water surface elevations, or an examination, evaluation and determination of mudslide (i.e., mudflow) and/or flood-related erosion hazards.”
