Forum Domesticum Law and Legal Definition
Forum domesticum is a Latin term which means a domestic forum or tribunal. It is the visitatorial power of the forum to decide all disputes within themselves.
In Appeal of Smith, 4 R.I. 590, 593 (R.I. 1856), the court held that “It is forum domesticum, calculated to determine sine strepitu all disputes that arise within themselves; and the exercise of it is in no instance more convenient than in that of elections”.
