Franchise Registry Law and Legal Definition
The SBA Franchise Registry is a national online listing of franchise systems whose franchisees receive expedited loan process when applying for financial assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Loan applications for franchises on the Franchise Registry is reviewed and processed more efficiently and quickly by SBA and its lenders because, through the Registry process, the SBA already reviews the franchise agreement and determines that there are no unacceptable control provisions by the franchisor over its franchisees. A franchisor’s participation in the Franchise Registry is voluntary.
