Fraternity Law and Legal Definition
The term fraternity refers to a body of men associated for their common interest, business, or pleasure. [Bradford v. Board of Education, 18 Cal. App. 19, 28 (Cal. Ct. App. 1912)].
In Donnelly v. Sovereign Camp, W. O. W., 111 Neb. 499, 504 (Neb. 1924), the court held that “***mutual interest and affection which is characteristic of the fraternal relation; brotherly regard and sympathy for others. And "fraternity" is the fundamental expression of all mutual, fraternal insurance associations”.
