A Fugitive is a person who flees or escapes. In other words a refugee.
It can also refer to a criminal suspect or a witness in a criminal case who flees, evades, or escapes arrest, prosecution, imprisonment, service of process or giving of testimony by fleeing jurisdiction or hiding. When used in this sense, it is also termed as fugitive from justice.
