Fumigant Law and Legal Definition
According to 46 CFR 147A.7 [Title 46 – Shipping; Chapter I -- Coast Guard, Department of Homeland Security; Subchapter N -- Dangerous Cargoes; Part 147a -- Interim Regulations for Shipboard Fumigation; General], fumigant means “a substance or mixture of substances that is a gas or is rapidly or progressively transformed to the gaseous state though some nongaseous or particulate matter may remain in the space that is fumigated.”
