Furnace Replacement Burner Law and Legal Definition
Pursuant to 26 CFR 1.23-2, [Title 26 -- Internal Revenue; Chapter I -- Internal Revenue Service, Department of the Treasury], the term furnace replacement burner means “a device (for oil and gas-fired furnaces or boilers) that is designed to achieve a reduction in the amount of fuel consumed as a result of increased combustion efficiency. The burner must replace an existing burner. It does not qualify if it is acquired as a component of, or for use in, a new furnace or boiler.”
