Labor Organization (Gaming Law) Law and Legal Definition
A labor organization, in general, is a union of workers who have joined together to achieve common goals such as better working conditions. Labor organizations act on behalf of employees, and negotiate with employers regarding the terms and conditions of employment. It represents the interests of workers. Labor organization with regard to gaming is a union of gaming employees.
The following is an example of a state statute (Nevada) [Nev. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 463A.020 (4)] defining the term 'Labor Organization.'
Labor Organization means "an organization of any kind, or any agency or employee representation committee or plan, which exists for the purpose, in whole or in part, of dealing or seeking to deal with employers of gaming casino employees concerning grievances, labor disputes, wages, rates of pay, hours of employment or conditions of work of gaming casino employees".
