Lagan Law and Legal Definition
Lagan means goods, cargo, or anything that are thrown into the sea but attached to a buoy or float so that it can be recovered by its owners, in the future. This is also termed as lagend, lagon, ligan, ligen, and logan. A lagan is different from a jetsam. Jetsam means goods or cargo that are purposefully thrown overboard to lighten a vessel or improve the stability of a vessel in emergency situations.
