Large Emitter Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 300.2 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter II -- Department of Energy; Subchapter B -- Climate Change; Part 300 -- Voluntary Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program: General Guidelines], the term large emitter means “an entity whose annual emissions are more than 10,000 metric tons of CO[2] equivalent, as determined in accordance with § 300.5(c).”
