LASH Vessel Law and Legal Definition
LASH Vessel means a lighter aboard ship vessel. A LASH Vessel is a system in which fully laden barges or lighters are loaded aboard a larger vessel for transport. For the purpose of facilitating the loading and unloading the barges, the host vessel is specially designed or modified with a door at the waterline. The LASH vessels have onboard cranes and hence do not require special docks or terminals.
