Legal Release Law and Legal Definition
A legal release is a legal instrument created between a releaser and a releasee. It terminates the legal liability between a releasor and releasee. The instrument is signed by a releasor. A legal release in the context of film production, photographers, documentary filmmakers, radio and music producers is mainly entered to make sure that the individual whose photograph, film, video or voice and performance has been recorded does not later object to the material being used for whatever purpose the release requires.
