Legality refers to the state or quality of being legal; lawfulness. It can also mean strict adherence to law, prescription, or doctrine or observance of law. The term ‘legalities’ usually refer to a requirement enjoined by law or an obligation imposed by law.
Legality can also refer to the principle of legality which says a person may not be prosecuted under a criminal law that has not been previously published.
