Legatus Natus Law and Legal Definition
Legatus natus is Latin term which means ‘born legate’ that is not nominated individually but ex officio. It means a bishop or an archbishop possessing legatine authority by virtue of office in their jurisdiction. A bishop’s legatine authority includes powers on the matters of unity of the Catholic Faith and for the settlement of ecclesiastical matters. It is also called as legate natus.
