Legislative Advocate Law and Legal Definition
Legislative advocate is an individual engaged to present to legislators the views of a group in a district. They assist in the planning, development, and implementation of strategies regarding proposed legislation including advocacy of the District’s interests with legislators and other governmental officials. They perform various duties with regard to legislation. It is mandatory for them to register with the Secretary of the State. They are also commonly known as lobbyists.
