According to 7 CFR 33.7 (Title 7, Agriculture; Subtitle B, Regulations of The Department of Agriculture; Chapter I, Agricultural Marketing Service H1 (Standards, Inspections, Marketing Practices), Department of Agriculture; Subchapter A, Commodity Standards and Standard Container Regulations; Part 33, Regulations Issued Under Authority of the Export Apple Act; Definitions), the term “Less than carload lot” means “a quantity of apples in packages not exceeding 20,000 pounds gross weight or 400 standard boxes or equivalent.”
