List Systems Law and Legal Definition
List systems refer to a voting system based on the principle of proportional representation where voters choose between party lists. In list system, the number elected from each list is determined by the percentage cast for each list out of the total vote. The system aims to transform directly a party's share of the vote into an equivalent proportion of seats in deliberate body.
