Liter or Litre Law and Legal Definition
According to 27 CFR 4.10 [Title 27 -- Alcohol, Tobacco Products and Firearms; Chapter I -- Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, Department of the Treasury], liter or litre means “a metric unit of capacity equal to 1,000 cubic centimeters and equivalent to 33.814 U.S. fluid ounces.”
