Living Together Agreement Law and Legal Definition
A living together agreement is an agreement between two unmarried persons dictating their legal rights and responsibilities during the existence of their relationship and after its termination. It is also known as a cohabitation agreement.
Such an agreement may be entered into by nonmarried couples who are living together and who wish to provide a plan for things such as:
1. The sharing of living expenses during the course of the relationship.
2. The division of joint property upon termination of the relationship.
3. The retention of separate property acquired prior to, and after, the execution of the agreement.
