Long Term Care Policy (Health Care) Law and Legal Definition
Long term care policy is a plan that provides coverage for the cost incurred for rehabilitation, restoration, and ongoing skilled nursing care provided to patients or residents suffering from illness or disability and who need assistance with activities of daily living. Care and assistance may be provided for dressing, bathing, eating, toileting, continence, transferring (getting in and out of a bed or chair), and walking. Long-term care policy offers coverage for those activities that are not generally covered by health insurance, medicare, or medicaid.
