Low and Moderate Income Areas Law and Legal Definition
According to 12 CFR 26.2 [Title 12 -- Banks and Banking; Chapter I -- Comptroller of the Currency, Department of the Treasury; Part 26 -- Management Official Interlocks] low- and moderate-income areas means “census tracts (or, if an area is not in a census tract, block numbering areas delineated by the United States Bureau of the Census) where the median family income is less than 100 percent of the area median income.”
