Lunatic Law and Legal Definition
Lunatic refers to an individual who cannot manage his/her person and affairs, though of sound mind. A lunatic is not a born, but a person who having once had his wits has lost them.
When a lunatic is disposed of his/her property during, the remedy is writ of lunacy. [Penington v. Thompson, 5 Del. Ch. 328 (Del. Ch. 1880)].
