M.O. is a slang term for Modus Operandi. Modus Operandi is a Latin phrase which means the method of operation. It is the way or pattern in which a repeat criminal usually commits his/her crime. It is often used in police work when discussing a crime and addressing the methods employed by the perpetrators.
