Mail order Bride Law and Legal Definition
Mail order bride refers to a woman who with intent to marry, publishes in a catalogue. This is done by a woman to marry someone from another country, usually a financially developed country.
The act of mail order bride is being regulated by the International Marriage Broker Regulation Act, 2005. The act imposes strict provisions on a man who track a mail-order bride. Under the act, the groom who intents to marry have to furnish certain informations like:
1. personal finance;
2. criminal arrest record;
3. number of previous marriage; and
4. number of children.
