According to 16 CFR 300.1 [Title 16 Commercial practices; Chapter i Federal Trade Commission; Subchapter c Regulations Under Specific Acts of Congress Part 300 Rules and Regulations under the Wool Products Labeling Act of 1939; Definitions], mail order catalog and mail order promotional material means "any materials, used in the direct sale or direct offering for sale of wool products, that are disseminated to ultimate consumers in print or by electronic means, other than by broadcast, and that solicit ultimate consumers to purchase such wool products by mail, telephone, electronic mail, or some other method without examining the actual product purchased."
