Mainpernors Law and Legal Definition
Mainpernors are people to whom a person is released from custody for appearing before the authorities. Mainpernors are sureties for the released person's appearance on a prescribed date. They have the duty to produce the released person for answering all charges. The writ that directs the sheriff to take mainpernors is called mainprise.
